Nokia, IIT-Delhi to Make Networks More Reliable by Using AI


Nokia has signed a (Mou) Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), to utilize data science for analysis. So that, Artificial Intelligence (AI) can make the network stronger.

The purpose of taking such steps is to make students expert through this programming process. They will expertise in communications networking to conduct research in these areas.

India is world’s second largest country using internet connection. So, the number of networks is growing fast. As a result, the networks are becoming complex. It will boost network performance.

Amit Dhingra, Vice President of Global Service Delivery at Nokia, said, “New technologies require fresh thinking and working with the scholars of IIT-Delhi will allow us to push the boundaries of what is possible. The collaboration will help us to prepare for the future, for which skills in analytics and artificial intelligence are essential.”

The research scholars from mathematics, statistical and computer science fields will work with them in India. They will develop software modules which are based on AI algorithms with machine learning, deep learning, and predictive analytics.

“Working with major technology firms like Nokia allows us to develop new capabilities in advanced technologies. The collaboration will provide crucial exposure to our students and enable them to put theoretical topics to practical use,” added B.R. Mehta, Dean of R&D at IIT-Delhi.
